Siesta Key Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a small boutique BJJ academy at 7360 South Tamiami Trail (Coral Cove Mall) in Sarasota, Florida, which has served the area for nearly two decades. Its model is unusual: group classes are the kids' programme, organised by age and open to all experience levels, while adults train mainly through one-on-one and semi-private private coaching on a structured beginner-to-black-belt curriculum. Head instructor Professor Thadeu Vieira is a 5th-degree BJJ black belt with more than 30 years of teaching experience who also serves as a law enforcement officer with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice; he directs the curriculum while a team of black belt instructors teaches the daily classes and private lessons.
