About ZMA Academy Newcastle
ZMA Academy Newcastle, at Kahibah Sports Club, was founded in 2011 by Sensei Curtis Smeaton, a 3rd Dan black belt in Zenryoku Martial Arts with 25+ years of experience who has trained and fought Muay Thai across Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. The academy moved to a permanent matted facility in 2018 and offers Muay Thai for all levels, mixed martial arts (ages 10 to adult), kids karate (5-9), open gym, private one-on-one sessions and a fight team that trains six days a week and competes regularly.
