Dalkeith — the principal town of Midlothian, just south of Edinburgh — is held by **Prana BJJ** (23 Mayfield Industrial Estate, EH22 4AD), one of the deepest single-gym black-belt benches in Scotland. The academy was founded by **John Kennedy** (3rd-degree BJJ black belt awarded 2011 by **Rick Young**; one of the first BJJ black belts in Scotland; 30+ years grappling, nearly 40 years martial arts) and **Craig Ali** (1st-degree black belt under Rick Young, 2017; 18+ years BJJ/submission wrestling). Senior coach **Clive** is also a Rick Young black belt (awarded 2023, 17+ years BJJ), and brown belt **Shaun** rounds out the room (trained in Thailand under Ray Elbe and in Australia under Diogo Consoni; teaches at Dalkeith and Prime 8 sites). The full Rick Young / Mauricio Gomes lineage is therefore preserved here in three black belts.
