IBJJF 2027 Calendar: Every Date Confirmed So Far
Every IBJJF 2027 date confirmed so far: the European Championship (January 13-23, Odivelas), six January-February International Opens with venues and prices, the majors still waiting for dates, plus 2027 ranking-point requirements and fees.

IBJJF 2027: What's Confirmed So Far
IBJJF has started publishing its 2027 season. As of October 18, 2026, its upcoming championships list has an event page for one major, the European Championship (January 13-23, 2027, Odivelas, Portugal), plus six International Opens in the United States between January 16 and February 21. Pans, Brasileiro, Worlds, Master Worlds and the 2027 no-gi majors have no event pages yet.
This page lists only dates that appear on IBJJF's own event pages, and we update it as IBJJF publishes more. Until then, treat last year's timing as a rough guide, not a date to book flights on. For the season that's wrapping up, see the IBJJF 2026 schedule.

Each Open also has a no-gi edition listed on the same dates, and Dallas, San Jose, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Austin add a kids event on the Sunday.
European Championship 2027
The first gi Grand Slam event of 2027 returns to the Pavilhão Multiusos de Odivelas. The essentials from IBJJF's event page:
- Dates: January 13-23 (January 13 is used only if registrations exceed capacity); adult black belts compete January 22-23
- Registration: $173 until November 15, 2026, then $186 until the January 3, 2027 deadline
- Black belts: 40 IBJJF ranking points required for adult black belts
- Spectators: free

A gi + no-gi combo costs $245 in the early window and $295 after it. Spectators get in free at all six. The Opens carry a ranking weight of 1 and have no points requirement, which is why adult black belts use them to build the 40 points that Europeans, Pans and Brasileiro ask for.

For a sense of timing: IBJJF confirmed the 2024 Worlds dates on February 13, 2024. We'll add each 2027 major here as soon as its event page goes live.
Two 2026 no-gi majors are still ahead: the European No-Gi (full, registration closed) and the No-Gi Worlds (registration open until November 29).
Ranking Points You Need
Point requirements apply to adult black belts only. IBJJF currently lists (athlete ranking information):

The ranking counts the current season and the two before it: 2026-27 results count three times, 2025-26 twice and 2024-25 once. Former black belt World Champions (gi or no-gi) and black belts who won an adult brown belt division at the previous season's Worlds are exempt. Worlds used to require 80 points, so check the requirement again when the 2027 event pages appear. The full system is in IBJJF ranking points explained.
Fees for 2027
- IBJJF membership: from $45 a year for new members, $40 to renew (early renewals are discounted, minimum $15) and $30 for minors (IBJJF membership). It has to be valid through the last day of any event you enter.
- International Opens: $143 early, $174 late; $245 or $295 for gi + no-gi.
- Europeans 2027: $173 until November 15, 2026, then $186.
For comparison, the 2026 no-gi majors topped out at $180 (European No-Gi) and $204 (No-Gi Worlds) in their final price windows.
